Not sure how many photos you need scanned? No Problem!
Printed photos are relatively consistent in thickness, especially standard 4x6 prints. This allows us to estimate quantity based on stack height rather than manual counting, taking the unneeded stress out of photo scanning and organization.
How to Use:
Gather your printed photos (try to group similar sizes together if possible)
Stack them as neatly and tightly as you can
Measure the height of the stack using a ruler (in inches)
Enter your stack height into the photo estimate calculator to find out about how big your collection is!
*This is an estimation method, not an exact count. Your total may vary slightly depending on photo size, print thickness, how tightly the stack is compressed, etc. For most projects, this method provides a very accurate starting point.*
If you’re unsure, don’t stress — just give us your best estimate! We can always confirm details once we receive your photos and help you finalize everything before scanning begins.
Note: If you have multiple stacks, try to even them out so that they are all the same height, measure one stack, and multiply the number of inches by the number of stacks you have to get your final stack height value.
i.e. 5 stacks that are 10 inches each = 50 inch stack height
